Rare! Zionist board game in Hebrew, handmade wood - World War II. Double-sided. Palestine [Eretz-Israel]
A double-sided wooden board game, handmade, colorful and detailed. On the subject of immigration to the Land of Israel.
One side - the title "Settlement" in the center surrounded by scenes of a Zionist settlement character: a farmer plowing the land, a wagoner, a public bus, a kibbutz or tent camp, the House of National Institutions with the inscription "KKL" on the wall. Along with a number on the illustrations indicating that this may be a dice game.
Second side - seven circles within what appears to be an illustration of the European continent. The middle circle symbolizes "Eretz-Israel" with a Star of David and the brigade flag. Two circles with the game options: "prison", "review", "port", deportation".
The additional circles symbolize the countries through which one must pass in order to immigrate to the Land of Israel, including the hardships on the way.
"Romania" (visa, arrest, ship, port of Konstanz), "Russia" (prison, routes, ship, visa, port of Odessa), "Germany" (routes, port of Hamburg, to Italy, visa, quarantine camp), "Italy" (port of Trieste, ship, visa, inspection), "Austria" (quarantine camp, to Italy, to Germany, visa, routes), "Poland" (to Romania, inspection, to Austria, visa, routes).
Fascinating item.
