In January 1948, a unification conference was held where it was decided to unify the Unity of Labor party - Poalei Zion with Hashomer Hatzair and found the new party - Mapam.

From the second leaflet offered here: "..the masses of the Hebrew youth have lined up and have already gone out to fulfill their difficult and sacred role. A month in which it was decided to raise a great deal of hostility, a month of the development of the debates at the United Nations, a month of the unification of the two parties "Hashomer HaTsair" and " For labor unity", a month of our party's council.".
