Hans Rosenthal, born in Stettin in 1906, immigrated to Palestine in 1934, and spent years struggling as a farm laborer in Pardessim (orange groves). "On the Tension Between Jewish and Arab Workers" is one of his few publications. Hans Rosenthal was married to Lotte Freyer, the daughter of an art historian, and had two sons. Hans Rosenthal died of cancer in 1950 at the age of just 44.
