Service instructions

for the two cantors of the Claus Synagogue.
al The prayer service on weekdays is to be held together,

morning service must also lead the special evening
service, while the other prayer leader must lead the
Minchah service.

two cantors take turns praying each Sabbath.
c) On the holidays, the senior cantor must lead the Torah on
the first holiday, the eighth day of Passover and Simchas, and
the other cantor on the other holidays; On Rosh HaShono,
the senior cantor recites Moussay on the first day, Shacharis
on the second day, and the other cantor recites Shacharis on
the first day and Mussaf on the second day. On Yom Kippur,
the senior prayer leader has to pray Kol Nidre and Mussaf,
the other cantor Shacharith and Minchah.
d) The senior cantor should perform on the first evening of Chanuka
and on Purim evening, and the senior cantor on Purin morning.

represent each other. One must inform the other in
good time of his or her absence.

services in which the other cantor officiates, as far
as this is possible given his other duties.
