H. (Jüdische Presse, 1870). Jakob Horovitz was a teacher and a rabbi who was “also very active in the field of general and Jewish social work...He published numerous essays on parts of the Talmud, as well as questions of religious philosophy in German and Hebrew,” before being arrested and tortured by the Nazis in 1938
