judaica jewish palestine israelm rabbi KOOK school yeshiva HEDER TORAH booklet
"Torah room" in Jaffa in 1904 by a small group of merchants, headed by Zalman Meisel and Eliyahu Aharon Kahana.
The purpose of the institution is to give the boys a traditional education that will also prepare them for economic life.
The committee was headed by Rabbi Kook.
The Jerusalem branch of "Dvar Torah" was established immediately thereafter.
And so it was written in his articles:
"The purpose of the Torah Study is to provide the student with religious studies (Bible, Gemara with Rashi and Tosafot, Dinim) in a systematic manner and to the extent customary in the important Talmud Torah schools, and to study secular studies to the extent that the necessities of life require them."
In the "Torah room" there were 8 departments. Class A is accepted by children aged 6 to 7 years who know how to read Hebrew.
In 1909 the institution was connected to an educational body of the Mizrachi movement in the "Tachkemoni" chapter. This connection marked the beginning of Mizrachi's involvement in education in Eretz Israel.
