The movement was founded in order to create a framework for the benefit of all Hebrew workers in Eretz Israel and in light of the demand of the Third Aliyah to a new ideological framework. This new framework included left-wing ideology, socialist, humane and Jewish but not Marxist. This ideology was also known as "revolutionary constructivism" and a formula in the party platform written by Berl Katznelson, who was one of its leaders.
As part of this idea, the movement included two basic frameworks that included the working settlements and the urban workers who were called "the few." Thanks to their belonging to these two sectors and the assistance of the kibbutz sector that he received, especially from Kibbutz Ein Harod, the movement became the largest in the elections for the General Federation of Labor, but in the end it was this spread that eventually led to the movement's association in 1930 with Hapoel Hatzair Mapai), which marked the end of the Achdut Ha'avoda movement.
